Another day in London. My time to depart seems to be approaching too fast. I am now searching for the miscellaneous places to go that I might regret later on. Justyne decided to come with me after class to visit these random sites.
First was Speedy' Cafe. In BBC's Sherlock, Speedy's Cafe is the sandwich shop right underneath their flat. It was too early for lunch, but I was glad to see it. I wonder if the management is annoyed with all the random fans that stop by and do not order anything. There was an Asian family in front of me also taking pictures.
Next was St. Bartholomew's. Lots of time is spent at this hospital in Sherlock. We're just going to leave it with that. The hospital has major renovations being done right now, so getting a good picture was tough.
The surrounding area was very pretty.
We crossed the bridge to South Bank and I walked along the Thames while everyone else stood in line for Antony and Cleopatra. It's just been another random thing on my list. Contrary to popular belief, I did not spot any seashells along the river.
It was nice day and close enough to walking along the beach. I bought the cup of candied nuts in an earlier picture from a vendor on the bridge. There are lots of stands all over London and it seemed like a necessary treat to try. They were delicious.
Another show as groundlings at the Globe. Antony and Cleopatra was good, but long. I was a little relieved when Antony died. The smoke was exciting.
Met up with Jennie after the show. She is on a study abroad through ASU. We were in Oliver! together eons ago at MCC. We ate lunch at Pizza Express. Two thumbs down for this chain restaurant. It was overpriced and the pizza wasn't very good. Letting me down England.
Jennie had tickets for some show with a friend I was interested in seeing another. We split Leicester Square after our fun catch up sesh. She went to meet a friend in her program and I got a ticket to the Bodyguard. This pops musical is Whitney Houston music. I didn't recognize all of it, but the show was fun. Certain scenes really felt like you were at a concert. I sat front row for a good price. Got to love student discounts and showing up at the door a half hour before showtime. I recommend this show with the warning that it is scary! Okay not really, but I don't handle any suspense or horror well. There will be no Woman in Black or Ghost Stories for me this trip. The bodyguard is needed in the show because the celebrity has a crazy stalker. It was not too intense, but I still walked home incredibly fast after sitting feet away from a convincing actor.
I am a few days behind, but I welcome comments or questions! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as I am.
