When We're Not Crying Over Finals...

Really finals aren't the worst. The end of the semester is just so fun and busy. Finals loom overhead like a giant kill joy. That, and so many people leaving for the mission field AND Carroll being torn down. The last week was a whirlwind.
Decorating the office on December 16th! Better late than never. Madi and I loved the giant lollipops.

Hanging the giant candy strands was a little hazardous. All the other offices were super jealous.

Tanner and Madi setting up the tree. We go all out for parties in Imaging.

December 17th. When you realize you and your roommates have matching shirts. I made Marie twin with me and take a picture. >:) We just really love Disneyland. <3 <3 <3

Wa-laaaa!!!!!!!!

Little Olaf! Brought to you by Emily, Natalie, and Melissa. Melissa had to teach us how to build with snow. Arizona and Florida don't get a ton. ;)

Jenni and her arch nemesis, the fire alarm. She was scared of it all semester. I have no idea why. The funny thing is I'm kind of scared of the ones in our new apartment. They flash super bright!

So everyone moved their stuff to Building 10... except Joelle. We had extreme guilt when they couldn't make dinner back in Carroll.

They made it work though. :)

That chain Marie and I made forever ago? It got pretty short. Only three days left till I hop on the plane!

Saying goodbye to my main girl, Carroll. Her building will always be remembered as the best of Old Heritage.

One time a boy asked Melissa and I, "What is it like to live in a concentration camp?" uhm, rude. He had a point though. The fences went up everywhere. This is the spot where we were going to hop the fence and pull a Christmas tree out of the ground since Jenni forgot to bring one. The night we went it was gone. They had moved it just a few hours before. :( Trying to be rebels and failing.

Home

Once upon a time on December 18th, Joelle, Jenni, and I drove to a Russian restaurant and bakery in downtown Salt Lake. Melissa was a little disappointed she missed out.

The location was pretty sketch, but we found great treats to give Dillon for Christmas. Jenni and I spent most of the time exploring different cookies while Joelle tried to translate everything into English. She bought us Russian candy too. :)

Afterwards we went to Chipotle. Stylish and Delicious.

I'm not sure who writes the translations for Russian treats, but I like them.
"The gorgeous combination of lightness and tenderness."

This one was pretty good too.

December 19th. Gettin pretty serious about coloring with Sam Bellows. #artists He's actually way better than me. We made a winter semester bucket list of activities. Got to live college life to the fullest.

My ticket home!

And here is the last link on the chain. I wore it as a bracelet to the terminal and then it ripped.

So long Provo. I'll be back to my snow globe soon. <3

The Weekend of Dates and Adventures

Sometimes we still all the cookies during ward prayer and eat them with our FHE bros. I don't think anyone found out about my stalker pic except Sherlynn. Ward prayer at it's finest my friends. December 8th.

And who else is better to sit by at ward prayer than Jenni? She has such class.

Skyping with Shanniqua. <3 If only we weren't so busy loving the college life. This was probably the first time we talked all semester. Life is good at Northern Colorado.

Science classes are always the worst. That is why we support Robby the Bio TA. Lessons with the other two TAs could be pretty dry, but Robby always had funny stories and an ease with teaching. I will admit I almost fell asleep a couple of times in that class with Susan, even though Professor Smith was great. Nobody fell asleep during a lesson by Robby. haha thank you, Robby the Bio TA.

During a mid-freshman year crisis I didn't know what to do the summer following winter semester. After lots of prayer and worrying, I acted on a prompting to apply for the Spring London Theatre Study Abroad. Study Abroad was NEVER one of my plans so I thought was a long short.... until I received this email. The interview went very well and I was almost certain I was going to London in six months. Only two or three people knew during the application and waiting process. I don't think I often keep secrets, so this was crazy.

December 12th BYU Idaho shows up with a Christmas gift for our office, chocolates!!! They were so delicious. I don't know why or how the BYU-I people came to our office, but they did and it was great.

December 12th, my life is complete. We threw a Yule Ball. Yeah, like from Harry Potter. For a little bit it was like we all went to Hogwarts. #dreams lol it really was so fun though with Daniel. Here is us with the random bench. Why is it there? We don't know... Some people were standing on it, others were sitting, then there are those that stand in front. We like to do our own thing.

The night was crazy since I had a choir concert and he was running the lights for it. We changed in the HFAC and then walked over to the Central Building in formals. After the dance we played Catch Phrase with my roommates, their dates, and some neighbors in the second floor lobby until curfew. Night: Success!

My beautiful roommate Marie.

Looking classy with Melissa. <3
We really should have taken a picture with all the roommates, but we were scattered before the dance started. 177 cleans up nicely folks.

Thinking of Susan leaving us for the mission field is too much to bare. We sent her this picture as a snapchat and that we miss her already. She sent back that I look like a Disney princess. I knew I liked that girl. Being a Disney princess is ALWAYS the goal.

December 13th, talking to Susan about life, boys, food, etc... the usual. ;)
She turned to me and asked, "Want to see my boy?"
"Of Course!"
"This is him! I have no boy!"
Always a good time with Susan. <3

Our group date to Lowes. Lowes?? Yes, it's a trampoline gym here in Provo, not a hardware store. We were pretty confused on the drive there. From left to right: Kennen, Marie, Tyler, Sam, Joe, Jenni, Tyler holding Pamela, Melissa, Me, Chris, and Trevor. Why is Tyler P. holding Pamela? She landed wrong jumping off one of the trampolines and tore her ACL. She actually had to get surgery at the end of the semester. She was amazingly calm the whole time for totally messing up her knee.

Driving back with these crazies. Our car was pretty packed. I love mine and Marie's eyes in this one.

Kennen is a good driver.. when he's not posing for pictures or running over sidewalk.
Marie, Chris, Me, Joe, Jenni, and Kennen

Movie night with the 101 group. We saw part two of the Hobbit. For not seeing the first one, this one was still really good. We were going to go ice skating afterwards, but the rink had already closed. Instead we went to Miranda's apartment to make hot chocolate and play some games. This is an attempt at taking a selfie with six people and a Christmas tree... It is not easy.

Nailed it!
Daniel, Rylee, Amelia, Jacey, Miranda, Me, and Rachel.

To wrap this one up we have a pumpkin in a snow bank. Don't ask. I have no idea.

Back to December

The First Week of December 2013

Walking home with Susan from Biology one day and the construction was getting closer and closer to Carroll. Literally the building would shake as they tore down the buildings around us and hill to the right. It was pretty creepy seeing a building practically cut in half.

Selfie with the building. 1. Because it's cool. 2. Because Susan is beautiful. 3. Because I like to blog.

This is awesome. It represents the insane amount of snowflakes my roommates made during the Christmas season. They can literally make anything in their paper snowflakes. This gem came from an FHE sister though. Cutting paper with extreme skill is NOT one of my talents. lol

Winter Wonderland. I love it. I live in a snow globe.

The Batman umbrella once again saves the day. I'm still not quiet sure if using umbrellas in the snow is social suicide, but it seems to work pretty great and enough people were doing it.

"The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway!"

Love Frozen. Love Snow. I really didn't think I would. It's not overbearing though. Just something fun to play in that comes and goes. You have to get use to dressing for the real cold in Utah, It's not the silly 50 degrees stuff in Gilbert. Fifty sounds kind of hot here. ;)

Dad says you can make a wish if you catch one on your tongue? He says to wish for money.

That one time we made snow angels in shorts and t shirts and now shoes late at night. December 3rd.

Sam was taking before and after pictures of our madness, so of course I have many lovely picks like this rom the few minutes we were out of the room.

So. So. COLD! Definitely not enough adrenaline to slide around in slow.

Here are our beautiful angels... upside down and far away.

December 4th. A typical rehearsal for "More Than You Bargained For." Here is our fearless TA Lindsay at the top of the ladder as she came to watch our rehearsals. Amelia following her lead.

Jacey pouting because I wouldn't let her be a tree in the show.

She makes a great platypus and lighting designer though.

Rylee and Daniel being themselves. They were so great to work with. Honestly I could make the smallest suggestions and they could internalize the notes and fix them the next run. I feel like we all connected so well. Our rehearsals were hilarious too. Slow motion quick changes, tripping over dresses, funny faces, and quotes galore. TMA 101 is one of the best classes.

Later that night Marie, Jenni, and I went on a quiz craze. We stayed up way later than planned taking silly quizzes about personality, style, and what Disney prince is right for you. I love my roommates and miss our rooms back in Carroll.

Famous BYU Creamery Chocolate Milk. Sometimes you need to give into the crave.

December 6th, More snow angels! These ones we were dressed warmly for. An impromptu sledding party happened on the hill in between Heritage and the Marriott Center that night with 177, 176, some girls from Helaman, and guys in our ward. People were sledding in and on everything. Snowball fights, running on the frozen stream, and then Susan and I snuck away to make snow angels. It was a fun night. #collegelife

Sometimes you need to make Sam dinner since she has been trapped in a lab for hours and hours making a chemmy car. True love is walking to give your roommate food in the snow.
