Mid November

November 15th

Life never calms down. In between two shows for See How They Run I went up to Orem for Shani's Bridal Shower. I'm so glad I could pop by at the end. Shani is awesome. Serious role model if you are looking for one. I am so excited for her wedding in December.

Is she not just gorgeous? I didn't mind all the free food I got too. ;)

It's not Thanksgiving yet, but the Wilk is already starting to look like the Great Hall in Hogwarts. BYU loves Christmas. (To the point it is almost a little ridiculous.)

November 18th

And then look who came to speak! Mitt Romney was an entertaining and informative speaker. Although we are sad he did not win the presidential race of 2012, his experiences and the example his family sets has been a wonderful one for The Church, the country, and the world.

Heidi, Rachel, and I listening to Mitt.

"Sisters, Sisters, Never were there such devoted sisters."
Shout-out to scene partner-in-crime. We killed TMA 123 together and were so convincing as sisters in both of our scenes that our teacher seriously thought we were related (or the same person) half of the semester. I am so glad I was able to work with Margaret. I think we both really grew as actresses. Here we are making some famous Codling cookies for our scene.

Becoming Acquainted with a New Love: Folk Music

November 9th

When you go to BYU, you get used to hearing from General Authorities of The Church. This time we had  Elder Ballard (I think).

November 11th

Rachel and I went to go see Alex and the Folk Music Ensemble Concert. Guys. The concert was great. I love folk music. Why have I not known about folk music? Each group killed it. We came to support Alex, but we were impressed. I would go listen to a group like that play whether I knew someone in the band or not.

Me, Alex, and Rachel.

November 12th (most likely)

It snowed and stuck!
Jordan, Emmy, and Me

So we took pictures after work!
Emmy and Me

Yeah. The End.

McDonald's at Midnight

November 9th (ish)
After much Snapchatting....

Miranda and I joined Alex and Rachel at the McDonald's at midnight. This is what curfew looks like. The people at McDonald's didn't seemed to mind and we had so much fun. Rachel and Alex were at a Murder Mystery Dinner earlier that night and then decided to keep the date going.

I don't remember too much about what we talked about or why Miranda had my phone. There were a lot of funny pictures though.

Oh Alex

Alex and Rachel fabulous as always. They didn't win the Murder Mystery Dinner by catching the culprit. Disappointed in them. ;)

Everyone wore Alex's hat a lot more than he did that night.

It got to the point where these were normal expressions. I don't think anyone was even talking after awhile. We just sort of sat there and laughed while trying not to fall asleep. This is college.

See How They Run

The whole month of November I worked tech on the show See How They Run in the Margett's Theatre. Working a show is required for the TMA 260 credit. I am so glad I was assigned to be a dresser on this show. Working with Barta Heiner (director), Sarah Barrus (stage manager), and the whole cast and crew was a joy.
Dresser Duties:
Check out all costumes 15 minutes before actors are called.
Placing all costumes before the show for quick changes.
Assisting with all quick changes during the show.
Checking in costumes at the end of a performance.
Starting the laundry.
Fixing any wardrobe emergency.
Being on hand.

Sitting back stage wasn't boring though. I had a whole cast to interact with as they ran off and on the stage. I definitely spent the most time with Soren and Alex since I was the male's dresser. I got really good at helping Alex take off his clothes and put on new ones. He, Soren, and Rodger never made the job awkward. Here are me and Soren backstage. He knew all of the lines to the entire show. See How They Run is funny, but it is even funnier when he does all of it.

Our classy set. I wish I could have seen more of it being used. I usually sat in the Nelke or backstage corner for Act 2. I will admit, everyone took an occasional nap in the Nelke.

The down time was good. I spent it doing homework or studying usually, when I wasn't doodling on snapchat. *Note - There is no reception or wifi in the Nelke and Margetts. It makes life a little difficult, but probably is better for everyone's focus.

Even though I would rather not tech again, I loved it. The show was so great.

It was normal to pick up my phone after a show and find something like this on it. The whole cast kept me laughing and busy while I was really really sick. I ended up not eating anything the whole last week of the show because my stomach could just not handle food. I had never had a problem like that before. Everyone was so unbelievably sweet and caring when they had so much going on. I felt so loved.

Well,  a weird theatre-family type love. lol

Me, Margaret, and Brenna guest starring in a fun matinee performance.

And then it was over. It felt like I lived in the HFAC those weeks. It was busy, crazy, stressful, hilarious, and fun. I learned more about theatre (which I love) and had a few super sweet dance parties on the set before shows. I appreciate small cast acting so much more now. Everyone was so tight and talented. If you didn't see See How They Run, you missed out.

Fall to Winter in Utah

“The seasons change the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.” - John Green (kind of)
And then you live in Utah and weather changes every two minutes.
Overall though, the quote describes our transition from fall to the nicest winter of all time. Suddenly you look down and you are bundled in jackets and scarves and blankets and headbands. Winter is upon us. Burrr. What is also upon us? Snapchat. <3

Party at Alyssa's for celebrating the day of her birth! Yay 20 years! The Acting Fundamentals Family was well represented at this gathering. The picture on the right is Me, Linsey, Rachel, and Margaret.

I don't think I post outfit too often, but sometimes your outfit is just on point. The longer I am at BYU, I think the better I get at dressing myself. Mostly these pictures are just to show how much I look like my mom. O.O

The Baron eating all of my extra Halloween candy. You've got to pack on a few pounds before winter hibernation, right?

Awesome conversations with my little sister. Please take me back to Arizona; a place where daylight saving does not exist. If you haven't seen this video: https://youtu.be/k4EUTMPuvHo
Watch It.

I'll just be here preparing for winter. Keep the fire within you going, because it is about to get COLD.

Morphing Into a Mouse

Everyone has a few costumes that they really want to create. You know, those ideas you keep on the back-burner. Every Halloween you pull off a costume, but there are those ideas that you just keep prolonging because it has to be great. I made one of those happen.

Friday, October 31st
I. Am. Minnie. Mouse. I have been wanting to be Minnie for the last couple of years. I've slowly been accumulating the pieces and ideas to be an adorable mouse. It didn't even matter that there were a ton of other girls dressed as Minnie this year. I was so happy it worked out.

October 28th - Disney History Club Halloween Party
Jenni as Tron
Mrianda as Cruella DeVille.
Me as Minnie Mouse.
Marie as a Pirate.

Rockin the Disney costumes in TMA 201!
Miranda is Darla from Finding Nemo.
Rachel is Disney Bounding as Ariel.
I'm Minni, duh,
Margaret is (dead) Ophelia from Hamlet. Not Disney, but she rocked it.

Love these girls. They make each day great.

After class, my work friends came over and we went to buy pumpkins to carve. However, it is really hard to find pumpkins at 6pm on Halloween. We went to one or two different stores and there were no pumpkins to be found. Eventually we went back to my apartment. On the way we saw this group of dedicated fans. It looked totally legit.

Saw it on Pinterest. Nailed it.
Shout out to Mom for sending me the supplies for such cute treats.

My glamorous spider and Leilani & I. The art majors might have been a little bit better at this then we were. After cookies we went up to the lounge and played Catch Phrase. Emmy completed the villain puzzle I won from the Disney Club too.

Jenni and Marie joined Miranda and I later that night to go party hopping. Lots of fun costumes could be seen at Raeni's (London Study Abroad Friend) Halloween Party. Miranda won the costume contest there! Her fish in the bag was real, and died around two that day. She still carried it around with pride. I guess it paid off.

Peace out peeps! Comment with your favorite or ideal Halloween costume.
