March 22nd Continued
I couldn't bring myself to add anymore pictures on the Harry Potter Studios post. There were other things that happened on Thursday though! Getting back to London was much faster than getting out to Watford. The tfl website (London transport) told us it would only take four stops to Watford, not fifteen. We figured out that is if you take the Midland, not the Overground. The Overground is great, but very slow in comparison to other trains. While waiting for the train to come a guy on the platform struck up a conversation with us. He was about our age and seemed pretty nice. We are always very cautious of talking to guys though. Especially if we don't have any guys with us and it is on public transport. He thankfully wasn't creepy even though he might have started doing drugs in the back once we boarded the train. Oh well.
We returned home for awhile and then set out for A Trick to Catch the Old One in the Rose Theatre. Here is a tunnel next to the rive that was built in the birth year. Holla for 95.
I was talking to Ethan and Cosette (some of Brett's kids) on the tube one day and they said their favorite place to eat in London was a cafe called EAT. It is basically the same thing as Pret. There are ready made sandwiches, salads, soups, etc. that you pick up from the shelf and buy at the counter. I got a chicken wrap and sat outside next to the rive with Sarah, Justyne, Tracy, and Collette to eat. It is good, fast, and pretty cheap. London's fast food is so much healthier than America's.
A lovely evening and skyline while we eat.
Justyne in front of the Rose Theatre. The show was pretty good. I thought I was following it well, but the ending took me totally by surprise. The overall feeling I had was that Shakespeare really was the best of his time. The plot, characters, and language just weren't as great as all the plays the bard wrote. Still a fine show to see though.
Walking back from the show. Roommates! There a few great group shots that Leslie called everyone to an emergency stop to take. They turned out beautifully. True Kodak moment. We also had Mama Leslie tell us her and George's story on the tube ride home. It's a great one. It is Raeni's thing to ask people about how they met, fell in love, and got married. I'm sure she hears lots of fun stories. She asks the couple separately and then compares stories. George and Leslie did not listen to each other tell the story. They were still very close! They just accented different details.
A snap I sent.... probably during class some day. I love it here.
