Friends From Middle Earth

Marvelous March. On the first day of the month I was able to watch the Gilbert Temple Cultural Celebration on abc15.com. I loved it. To tell the truth, I was heart-broken that the Cultural Celebration happened after I went to college. I was so excited for the large musical numbers from the moment the temple was announced in conference years ago. We watched the steady progress of the beautiful building while driving to play practice and performances at the Higley Performing Arts Center for months. I went to the temple the day Captain Moroni was placed on top of the spire and even flew home to go through during the Open House. I am crazy jealous of my sister, family, and friends that got to participate in the youth Cultural Celebration. Megan laughing was actually the last image the broadcast showed of the rainy night. It was great. Gilbert temple is my temple. I can't wait to be sealed there someday.

Being domestic. This banana bread didn't seem super banana-y, but it was delicious. I made it all by myself while Jenni and Marie watched Dragotopia... Dinotopia? lol some old movie. Then Mady from work came over and we watched "Catching Fire." The movie is so much better than the first movie. We've been listening to the books at work. I love that she is team Gale with me and agrees that they just get dumber as the story moves on. It's fun to listen to Mack analyze the books. I think he makes it a little deeper than Suzanne Collins intended, but I like analyzing too. BYU must be the right place for me. I almost miss AP English classes a little.

Even though Mady was over, our room was still in charge of decorating 176 for Marilyn's surprise party. (That was there number in Carroll at least. idk their number now.) Melissa got a text from Bex that she THOUGHT was the go-ahead. We walked down the hall with our arms full of streamers, balloons and signs. Melissa walked in and then ran back down the hall. Jenni, Marie, and I followed her back, confused. When we got back to our room we realized that the text from Bex said they were about to leave. Melissa had almost walked right into Marilyn. Hilarious. We went back a little later and successfully set up all the decor. I think Marilyn was still surprised when she walked in and a handful of people from the ward were hiding in the dark to surprise her after her roommates took her out to dessert for her birthday.

Sunday, March 2nd - I like to fold paper during Sacrament Meeting. I don't do it all the time, but I thought I would look up some new oragmi animals since I usually just do hearts, fortune tellers, and cranes. I found this on the internet... this is not a polar bear. I tried it just to see if it looked better in real life. Nope. It looked even dumber when physically folded. Not a polar bear!

"Tape it to your back!"
Monday, March 3rd - We ventured to the Jensen's for FHE. Last semester Marie didn't make it to this activity, but we sent her snap chats of the wonderful Lord of the Rings cardboard cutouts. It might have been then that she told us to steal them by taping them to our backs, so no one would see. It's been an inside joke ever since. This semester Marie was finally able to meet the cardboard cutouts. Not going to lie, I still really want them, but Brother Jensen said they got them in Europe so I didn't ask. We were able to jump on the trampoline and venture around the rest of the large house too.

This first picture was with the five hobbits. This is Aragorn, Marie, and Gandalf.

Still a better love story than Twilight? ;) jk

Each of the Bishopric members and Brother Jensen are so nice to open up their homes to us. Being away at college gets a little weird. Their games room is top notch.
