A Stroll In the Park

May 11th
Happy Mother's Day!! Skyped my mom after my church, but before hers. She says I can't move to the UK cause she'll miss me. I'm tempted to though. Not being able to call home is annoying, but Skype works fine. You know, when we're both awake.
Happy Birthday Laura Hawkes!!! I wish you were in London with me! I ate a brownie in honor of your birthday. I might have eaten it regardless, but we're going to go with that.
This morning was a little bit of sleeping in. I was assigned the Hyde Park 2nd ward. It meets at 9:20 and does church in the reverse order; Relief Society, Sunday School, and then Sacrament. I personally like it the normal way, but I can do a few weeks of this.
I was nervous there wouldn't be any pictures today for the blog, so I took this just in case.

After church we went home and ate and Skyped. Justyne and the people going to wards that didn't meet in Hyde Park did not get back till much later. By the time they finally did, Tracy and I were ready to do something. I took my computer to write my response on Richard the III and read Much Ado About Nothing and we crossed the street to Hyde Park. We happened to meet Peter.

We sat on a bench nearby for an hour. I wrote and she read.

As we were working, a family of swans came to visit!

Tracy went back to the flat then. I decided to walk around a bit more. I saw the Italian fountains first.

How every path looks in Hyde Park.

The grass isn't always tame and there are lots of different trees and statues.

I made a large loop, procrastinating reading.

The farthest I went was the Princess Diana's memorial fountain.

There were nearly a dozen swans flying together just a minute before I took this picture.

I finally made camp next to the Prince Albert Memorial. It is grand. The wind was pretty strong, but I got through Much Ado About Nothing.

Hyde Park Gate? The Queen's Gate? I think it has two names.

I love this particular statue. We pass it every time we walk to the chapel.

The Queen's Gate.

I see the red telephone booths everywhere. I just haven't taken a picture with it yet. I thought this was unnecessary to post till I find the perfect moment for one of me in one. Till next time! ~Emily
